Jack A. Rooney

FULL NAME: Jack Antonio Rooney

A.K.A.: Antonio Roberto, Jr.

NICKNAMES: Peewee, Jackmeister, Jacky-Boy, Jackarooney

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A handsome, gray Miniature Schnauzer with brown eyes.

CLOTHING: Snazzy casual clothing - matching jackets and pants, leather loafers, sometimes a tie.

OCCUPATION: Retired champion show dog turned male model and celebrity-in-general.

HOBBIES: Hob-knobbing with the rich and famous of Nearburg, hanging out with CatDog, chasing squirrels (look out, Eddie!), chasing pigeons, and chasing lady dogs.

SPECIAL ABILITIES: Is incredibly charming and persuasive; he can make just about anybody like him. He's also a darn good dancer, and he's fluent in Spanish.

ORIGIN: Born to Ecuadorian parents as Antonio Roberto, Jr., Jack is a purebred Columbian-born Miniature Schnauzer. He was separated from his family at an early age to be adopted by a Columbian dog trainer, who molded him into a champion show dog under the name of "Peewee." But even all the blue ribbons was not enough to keep Jack happy. He decided to retire from the dog show business in his late 20's, and moved to the United States to lead a brand new life. Now in his mid-30's, he has settled down in Nearburg and is currently pursuing a multitude of careers and interests, most notably male modeling and charity work. Jack met CatDog when he accidentally crossed onto Greaser turf. Just as the Greasers were about to pound the snot out of him, CatDog showed up just in the nick of time to help him get away. He's been their friend ever since. Jack has been known to frequently consult CatDog on gaining the affections of a certain lady dog named Bianca. Randolph doesn't get along with Jack; he considers him a rival because (A) Jack is a Schanuzer, and (B) Jack is younger than him!

PROBLEM-SOLVING: Jack often uses his charming personality to get through a difficult situation, but if that doesn't work, he can always rely on his sharp wit. Not many realize that despite Jack's friendly, easy-going and loving nature, he is also quite smart, and so they are thrown off-guard when Jack pulls one over them. But while he's no pushover, Jack avoids as much physical conflict as possible and has more bark than bite.

MOTIVATION: Jack wants nothing more than to live it up to the fullest! Of course, he feels living it up is best when you have friends along for the ride, and the more friends he makes, the happier he is. (Being as filthy rich as he is doesn't hurt, either!) But the one thing he wants the most is currently out of his reach-- a real romance.

PERSONALITY: Upbeat and cheerful, friendly and even flirtatious, Jack can turn anyone's frown upside down. He knows how to get down and party at any given moment, and never fails to turn some heads. But he isn't without his faults. While Jack has quite a bit of money, he's careless with it and often finds himself in debt, which he goes at great lengths to try and hide. He feels that if nobody thought he was financially healthy, he wouldn't be as well-liked as he is. In truth, Jack has very low self-esteem and has yet to realize that his self-worth does not stem from his checkbook. He's also a bit vain about his appearance.

FRIENDS / FAMILY: Friends include CatDog, Mervis and Dunglap (who are practically his groupies), Lola (whom he likes chattering with in Spanish), and most of the Nearburg elite. Family includes his father, Antonio Roberto, his mother, Maria Roberto, and his eleven brothers and sisters.

NOTABLE TIDBITS: Jack is somewhat ashamed of his past, in the time before his dog show days, because his family didn't have a lot of money. He tried to cover up his roots by "Americanizing" his name when he became a U.S. citizen. Imagine the surprise people get when he informs them he's Columbian!
Jack has a difficult time getting along with most other dogs. Canines like the Greasers think he's really snooty and doesn't act much like a real dog at all. Jack will chase squirrels and pigeons, but he refuses to chase garbage trucks, eat garbage, catch mailmen, or bury bones. Those last three are because he doesn't like to get dirty. The first one is because he's afraid of garbage trucks.
Jack can switch between an American accent and a Spanish accent at will, depending on who he's talking to. His American accent is so clear cut you wouldn't be able to tell he was born speaking Spanish.
